Transparency

We prioritise transparency so that you can make conscious and informed choices that meet your values before making a new clothing purchase from us.

Production and Conscious Manufacturing

We operate small scale production to make sure there is little waste and inventory lying around. At present we manufacture in house, at our studio in Brixton, and with an ethical manufacturer based in North London. We regularly visit our factory and have built amazing relationships with the staff who create our designs.

About Us

The fabrics

We locally source deadstock fabric of various fibre compositions and run wear tests to ensure they are high quality and long lasting.

We also use a U.K. supplier to print our new fabrics. They have robust sustainability policies; such as using little to no water in production and using 95% less energy than traditional textile printing methods. Their fabrics are ethically sourced and their suppliers are vetted for labour and environmental standards, REACH and SEDEX accreditation.

Any unusable scraps left from manufacturing (e.g. too small, damaged) are sent to a UK company who create other products, like sports equipment, with the recycled textile. We have received legal documentation that Offkut Studio LTD is disposing of textile waste responsibly. We also sell our larger fabric remnants on our website and studio sales at affordable prices to ensure they are accessible to creatives.

  • Garment longevity

Care instruction labels are sewn into each garment. Good garment care practice is to  hand-wash or put in a low spin/low temp cycle and do not tumble dry.

Every sample is test washed and worn several times prior to release to ensure the quality of the final garment will be up to our high standards.

  • Eco-Packaging

We use biodegradable and/or recyclable products for our packaging. The pouches that protect the garment in transit contain an additive that speeds up to biodegrading process

  • Community

We support local textile businesses when sourcing and printing our fabrics, and love collaborating with creatives to spread awareness of how many talented, ethical brands/creatives are out there.
